For our 28th episode, we sat down with 11 year old Roman Cornish (and his eloquent Mom, Shay) We talked about Roman's different abilities and how he is using his Aspie Power to change the world. We cover off coding, tips for public speaking, bullying, how to make friends, how to control your anger, his forthcoming app Aspie Chat and then Shay shares excellent resources and tips on how to raise a child with Autism. Be sure to lean in when Roman spontaneously roasts everyone in the studio. :) In the intro, John and Andrew share what they were like as 11 year old boys. Spoiler Alert: They weren't making apps or appearing on podcasts. This! Is Obstacle Course Let's Go!
So apparently coding and app development is something kids do..
Sadly, Grandma Lees no longer exists in Weyburn.
Apparently, John is the only person who calls Andy, Andrew. That said, he's sticking with Andrew.
Immediately following the milk incident, Andrew's popularity plummeted to 2%. #nailedit
Autism is NOT a disease JOHN.
John and Andrew pretending like they understood Roman's coding talk remains some of the best acting of 2019.
By "some people think it's a disability.".. Roman means John. haha.
"If you've met one person with Autism, you've met one person with Autism."
HURT people HURT people. This goes back to the classic advice we were raised with. "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
Here's Jill's excellent episode on how to follow your intutition and the
importance of fighting to have your voice heard!
To learn more about Autism, here are some fantastic resources handpicked by Shay and Roman.
